a little note from here to say thank you for holding the space for me as i share pieces of where i am as i take a breath, then a step, then the next and the next. i wish the beana and i could meet you and you and you for waffles and strawberries tomorrow. yes. that would be perfect. we could share the truths and dreams that rest (that dance) inside us. some day. some day.

sending light and love to your corner of the world,

liz

notes for the journey: beauty and truth

unexpected reflections . manzanita

kristin talks about using her camera to work through the personal, the real. (thank you for this post.)

jennifer's words at her new blog, lovely and imperfect, fill my heart with wonder and joy. she is a poet this one.

lately, the posts at roots of she have been taking my breath away. truths about grief and breaking the silence and letting ourselves shine. i am so glad that there is a home for these truths.

looking through the photos at the "i am beautiful" project has deeply inspired me.

and i can't wait to put up tiffany's "you are beautiful" print in my newly painted studio. yes. i had the joy of meeting miss crafty fanny at JOY, and she is a light in this world. you should connect with her if you haven't already. so glad i will be seeing her again in july when viv and i travel to the teahouse studio!

i hope your day is full of light and joy and that you are taking the time to breathe deeply and know you are loved.

blessings,

liz

new blue wall . the little room

the view from here:

  • a visit from a partner in crime and friend
  • one studio freshly painted (and truly found underneath all the stuff)
  • a carload or two of that stuff to goodwill
  • rediscovery of so many good things that fill my heart with joy
  • many moments of laughter so loud we almost woke the baby
  • juicy brainstorming for so much that is to come
  • nods of "yes, i get that. totally."
  • mug after mug of coffee
  • a moment in the quiet overwhelmed by kindness
  • a smoothie that looked like she added algae (like from a fish tank) [it was super good]
  • a very specific wish or two released into the universe
  • plans hatched (the midwest retreat is gonna be so good. like big. like oh this is the way life is gonna go now. hold on. it is gonna be awesome.)
  • another reminder that showing up as you is the way to find others who will see you
  • another reminder that it is through love (and letting ourselves be loved) that we heal

where: my backyard
when: april 12, 2011

several years ago, i was drawn to the creative exercise of finding the senses in a moment through writing and photography. i often return to this exercise to help me get out of my head. i find that it anchors me and reminds me to notice the beauty around me.

see past posts about the senses here.
