Workshops & Events

Let’s gather and tell our stories.

My workshops and retreats are an invitation to pay attention and be present to the world within and around us. I show up with my vintage suitcases full of words and inspiration and invite you to look inward in ways that will delight your spirit and offer you a way to explore who you are and want to be in the world.

Each workshop I lead includes creative and mindfulness prompts and practices that help us gather evidence of daily life - from the moments of beauty to the messiness that are both part of life. Whether we are writing together, taking photo walks, creating in art journals, or sharing our stories, you will feel supported and encouraged to listen to the voice within. You might even write a poem.

In-person gatherings are slowly coming back, and I’m so happy to be planning opportunities for us to gather. If you are someone who has a group of people that you think would enjoy working with me, please get in touch. I’m available for workshops and weekend retreats and would love to plan something with you.

Here are some current and upcoming workshops and gatherings:

The Kitchen Table

The world begins at the kitchen table.
- Joy Harjo

Imagine we are at the kitchen table with notebooks and favorite pens, hearts open, tea beside us, with time in community to be present and write and connect.

Join me on Zoom for a 90-minute gathering where we will sit side by side and write, share, and show up together. Because we are holding a lot right now. Because I think we need each other. Because creating this space is something I can do.

The next Kitchen Table will be announced soon.

Tell It Workshop Weekend

ON THE PAGE is a day-long workshop with Liz and Audrey Hamel that explores journaling, collage, conversation, writing, community, and simple ways to move your body. You will practice noticing the feelings within and getting them out of you and onto a page in a journal. We will explore prompts that you can return to again and again to help you in moments when you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or simply over it. Through this class you will explore how to be a witness to hold space for yourself and others when the big feelings come up.

Date: June 1, 2024 in Tacoma, Washington

Write Here

Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.

- William Wordsworth

Through prompts, community, and inspiration, I provide a space where you will be encouraged to get the thoughts, hopes, worries, and dreams out of you and onto the page. Whether you have a writing practice, have always wanted to write, or are simply seeking a way to practice self-care, this class will provide a welcoming and affirming space. We are a community of peers, and the focus is on shared space rather than a space to workshop writing. That said, we share pieces of our writing if desired.

More Write Here dates coming soon.
