real

a moment on the coast . bandon, oregon . january 2009

this post by heather ross. beautifully written and connecting the dots about so many things that resonate deeply with me. one of my favorite blog posts ever. seriously.

a field journal. a newly discovered blog. gorgeous.

a painting. the one at the top of that blog post. takes my breath away.

hearts. the story that birthed these creations makes me so darn happy. love creations that have a story.

podcasts. specifically the podcasts of this incredible woman.

steeping inside possibility. yes. this is what i feel in this moment.

***updated***
the heather ross link is now correct (thanks maria!)

an evening chat and a dare.

if you knocked on the front door tonight. if you knocked on my front door any night with your mug of tea because we lived right down the street from each other...well...if you did that very thing, you would find me looking kinda like this. in my flannel pjs and no make-up and so on. you would find me, kinda like this...

i have been thinking about a series of posts with a theme like: i think you should know about this (just in case you don't). but that is a bit cumbersome i think. i imagine these posts being a gathering of people catching my eye, new things i have learned, ideas, bits i have discovered...like a collection of notes jotted down that i can't wait to share.

i am going to call these posts: notes for the journey.

today's notes:

the jewelry of paper wings (aka my delightful friend jen goff). her jewelry is elegant, inspired by nature, and full of light...just like she is. i just adore her. and jen recently started a blog (check it out and welcome her to blog world).

the perfect little dessert (judy introduced me to this): medjool dates + cream cheese.

the four. such inspiration here. can't wait to see what these four girls do next.

the farm chicks blog. these girls bring such happiness into the world. and i am enjoying the bursts of goodness they share through recipes and other fun things on their blog (i want to make these soon). and i am really looking forward to their book coming out this spring!

the photography (and blog) of abby try again. i just purchased a print and postcards from her shop. incredible. gorgeous. i am so taken with the way she sees the world through her lens.

photos at ground level. for the last year or so, i have been having fun putting my camera right onto the ground and pressing the shutter. the photo above is the beach in bandon, oregon, looking out toward the ocean. try it some time (and let me know all about it).

hope your weekend is full of much beauty and joy.
(thank you for your positive feedback and encouragement about my video post...i look forward to making another one soon.)
blessings,
liz

i have been thinking about more frequent video posts for a while now...
so here is the first of a series...

(i need to work on camera placement and lighting, but without a teleprompter, i knew i wouldn't be able to recapture what i said, so i decided to just go with this.)

history.

we breathe . we hope

a new pendant in the shop in honor of this day, available here

i am blessed, truly deeply blessed, to be alive in this moment watching this man take an oath that ushers in a new era of hope...of change...

(i believe there will be change. i believe.)

joy is spilling over in the form of tears today.

i keep saying these words aloud: President Barack Obama.

(and i keep singing these two songs.)

we did it.

change is here.

(and does anyone else just want to be part of all of it? i just wish there was a webcam for every moment as i don't want to miss one second of what is to come. i guess it is the west wing watcher in me...i want to know it all. i want every wednesday at 9 to be an hour of what is happening inside the west wing...inside the white house. i want to know every single detail.)

full.

the sun sets

i am so full.
i am so full of hope and possibility.

when life is good, even for just a moment, it might seem easy to just rest inside these feelings.

but even in the midst of the stuff that might not be so great...the hard stuff...the heavy lifting that makes up this life. even in the midst of that, i find myself returning to hope and possibility.

i find myself resting inside it with each breath.

i find myself returning to the belief that we are in control of how we walk in this life...if we open our hearts...how we react in any given moment...how we react to others...we choose. we choose.

and through hope and possibility, i choose the light.

(just wanted to peek in and say hi and share these thoughts i am having as i get ready to go to bed early to continue to catch up on sleep. i'll be back in the morning with more to share. oh and just know that i might keep sharing these oregon coast photos for the next few weeks. the lighting one night last week was simply perfection and i can't get over the joys of using my 50mm lens at the beach...in that lighting. hope you don't mind.)

one piece of happy

liz lamoreux

hello

an invitation has been extended to you...
today
in this moment

in this moment
find one piece of your journey that brings you happiness
find one piece, even if it is small or simple or something only you know,
find it inside you

and then,
if you want to accept,
you could sit inside this happiness...

you could sit inside this happiness and allow it to surround you with all that you need today...

in this moment

in this moment
allow the space around your heart to fill with the joy that lives inside your world...
